Located close to Dubai’s main artery, the Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as business hub Dubai Marina, Meadows is hugely popular with families and young professionals. It has a great community feel, well-established access to the city, and spacious villas ranging from 3 to 6 bedrooms.
Most of the villas have good-sized private gardens, and many have swimming pools.
Most of all, though, it’s the combination of great facilities and easy lifestyle that residents like most of all. Tree-lined streets, lakes and green spaces, and sports and leisure facilities, make it a top choice for families new to Dubai.
You’ve also got supermarkets, coffee shops, boutiques, and retail outlets in the Meadows Town Centre, while you’ll find community swimming pools and leisure clubs offering basketball, tennis & other sports.
Each Meadow area has paths and walkways which are popular with cyclists, power walkers, and joggers while golf enthusiasts will find they’re able to swing their clubs not far from home with the Emirates and Montgomerie Golf Clubs nearby.
Learning in the Meadows – A Great Place for Schools
Expat families tend to look at Meadows as one of their first options. There’s a good choice of schools in and around the community with the Meadows International School and the Dubai British School.
The Emirates International School – Meadows opened in September 2005, initially caring for children from KG2 to Grade 10 (ages 4 to 14), and now provides an extremely high level of education for over 1,600 puiles from KG1 to Grade 3 (ages 3 to 18).
The Dubai British School is a member of the Taaleem Group, much like a British Academy chain, and it opened its doors in 2005. It is one of the most sought-after schools in the whole of the Emirate, if not the UAE, with its own swimming pool, two libraries, sports hall, and so on.
They take in children from the ages of 3 to 18, and have a huge selection of extra-curricular activities.
Get to the Meadows Town Centre
Meadows Town Centre is where you’ll find everything – there’s Shakespeare’s Café which is a home from home for the British, but also has some of the best patisserie you’ll find this side of Paris (trust us, the petits fours are superb), and Spinney’s is where you’ll pick up your weekly shop.
You’ll find health clubs with gyms – for men and women, as well as mixed. There’s a Fitness First which has an excellent mixed gym.
And of course, there’s a really good Estate Agent with a stand in the Town Centre, they’re really friendly and know everything about Meadows.
Travel in the Meadows
The Meadows benefits from quick and easy access to major road networks including Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
Unfortunately The Meadows does not have it’s own metro startion but does have a number of metro stations a stones throw away including: DMCC and Sobha Realty stations located between JLT and Dubai Marina.
Taxis are conveniently available for those seeking a more direct and personalised mode of transportation.
What’s the property like in the Meadows?
Depending on your position within the community, you will find different floorplans – these are dependent on the Villa Type. For instance, Villa Type 6. This is quite typical of a Meadows villa, with five bedrooms – one for guests, and a selection of living areas. The kitchen is typically “American” style, with a bar opening out onto a dining area, and there is a garage with space for two cars.
For those who like their outdoor space, Meadows tends to offer easy-to-maintain, yet relatively spacious gardens.
If you are lucky, you might find a corner plot available, such as Villa 16. This villa is slightly larger, and that results in a larger fifth bedroom, with bigger living areas and extra garden space.
However, the Type 1 Hattan Villas are among the most sought-after, the following floorplan offers a significantly increased living area, and a much larger plot – but one of the key selling points for these villas is the view:
If you’re looking to buy Dubai Real Estate, the Meadows is a great place to start looking. Investigate the area as much as you can. Emaar, the developer, has an excellent Meadows website which introduces life in the Meadows nicely, while the Emirates Living site has plenty of information about what’s happening locally.
